I guess any trip to Costa Rica needs to start with one of these incredibly delightful birds. Blessed to have seen these on our first day, along with many other incredible birds.

Toucans are one of the most charismatic families of birds, known for their oversized, colorful bills that seem almost too big for their bodies.

These tropical birds, native to the rainforests of Central and South America, use their vivid beaks not only for feeding but also for social displays and temperature regulation. Despite their eye-catching size, the bills are surprisingly lightweight due to a honeycomb structure, which helps toucans maneuver through branches with ease.

Toucans are social creatures, often found in small groups or pairs, and they have a playful side, frequently tossing food to one another. Their diets are as diverse as their colors, including fruits, insects, and even small reptiles, which makes them important seed dispersers in their ecosystems.

With their vibrant appearance and quirky personalities, toucans are truly one of nature’s most fascinating family groups!

WHICH FINISH?

Great question! Here's what we recommend...

CANVAS - On trend (we sell heaps) and great for most homes with lots of windows. Soaks up the reflection.
ACRYLIC - On trend with its frameless look. Suits modern homes with big white walls. Highly reflective though.
METAL - The shinny version of canvas. It's framed the same way but instead is very shinny and flat.
FRAMED - Traditional look however we don't sell many framed prints these days.
ROLLED - Perfect if you have your own framer however, remember framing is expensive!

WHITE BORDER

All Rolled Prints come with a white border. This allows you to have the print framed without having to pay for a mount board.

- 60 x 40cms prints typically have 5cms each side

- 100 x 75cms and larger have 7cms each side.
