Sorrento Couta Boat Club Jetty - Mornington Peninsula VIC
The Sorrento Couta Boat Club Jetty is always a hive of activity on a hot summer’s day. If it’s not the Couta Boats heading out to race on the bay, it’s the kids on the catamarans learning to sail. In fact, if you look closely, you’ll see a few of them struggling to get their boat upright! SSCBC, as it is now known, goes back to November 1948 when the inaugural race was held featuring just seven boats. Today the Club has conducted the World Titles for the 49ers (an Olympic class), the 29ers and the World Moth Championships.
