One of my most vivid memories of the Mornington Peninsula coastline is a fabulous shot from Point Nepean. Featured on the cover of a Parks Victoria brochure many years ago, I remember being struck by the beauty of this landscape so close to Melbourne.
It has been on my wish list to create something similar for myself. However, on each visit to Point Nepean, I've often been disappointed with my images. Something was missing and I couldn't work out what it was.
Photographing for my latest book, I knew Point Nepean needed to feature. It's such an iconic landscape on the Mornington Peninsula. Making my way down there on a warm summer's evening, I could think of no better place to be. Despite the Peninsula being a haven for holiday makers and residents now, being alone in this landscape made me feel that I was miles from anywhere.
As the sun went down, the warm sandstone colours of the coastline glowed. I knew this was the time to shoot. Being higher up meant that I had a brilliant perspective along the coast, seeing far off into the distance. To me this encapsulated this area - a rugged, wind-swept coastline battered by the waves as far as the eye could see. On the other side of this narrow peninsula, the calmness of Port Phillip Bay - a playground for boating enthusiasts.
Finally, I had the image that I'd been longing for.

WHICH FINISH?
Great question! Here's what we recommend...
- CANVAS - On trend (we sell heaps) and great for most homes with lots of windows. Soaks up the reflection.
- ACRYLIC - On trend with its frameless look. Suits modern homes with big white walls. Highly reflective though.
- METAL - The shinny version of canvas. It's framed the same way but instead is very shinny and flat.
- FRAMED - Traditional look however we don't sell many framed prints these days.
- ROLLED - Perfect if you have your own framer however, remember framing is expensive!

WHITE BORDER
All Rolled Prints come with a white border. This allows you to have the print framed without having to pay for a mount board.
- 60 x 40cms prints typically have 5cms each side
- 100 x 75cms and larger have 7cms each side.

- 100 x 75cms - suits walls above side boards and fireplaces, for example
