THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO

Photographing the wet season storm clouds swirling above the iconic Beehive Domes of the Bungle Bungles in Purnululu National Park was an exhilarating and awe-inspiring experience. The anticipation of witnessing the power and beauty of a tropical storm in this remote corner of Western Australia had drawn me here, and I was eager to capture the dramatic scene.

I arrived in Purnululu National Park during the wet season, a time when the landscape undergoes a profound transformation. The red sandstone domes of the Bungle Bungles, their beehive-like formations a natural wonder, were now surrounded by lush, green vegetation. The air was heavy with the promise of rain, and the distant rumble of thunder heralded the approaching storm.

With my camera equipment carefully protected against the impending rain, I set out on foot to find the perfect vantage point. The towering domes loomed majestically before me, their intricate textures and vibrant colors accentuated by the moisture in the air. The rich reds of the sandstone contrasted beautifully with the verdant green of the wet season landscape.

As the storm clouds gathered overhead, the scene took on an otherworldly quality. The Beehive Domes, already an extraordinary sight, were now enhanced by the dramatic play of light and shadow. The interplay of sun and storm painted the landscape with a dynamic intensity that was a photographer's dream.

Great question! Here's what we recommend...

CANVAS - On trend (we sell heaps) and great for most homes with lots of windows. Soaks up the reflection.
ACRYLIC - On trend with its frameless look. Suits modern homes with big white walls. Highly reflective though.
METAL - The shinny version of canvas. It's framed the same way but instead is very shinny and flat.
FRAMED - Traditional look however we don't sell many framed prints these days.
ROLLED - Perfect if you have your own framer however, remember framing is expensive!
