Following an epic start to the 2023 snow season, my son Ollie and I headed up to Mt Buffalo for his first snow camping adventure in the school holidays. The conditions were fantastic - cold with no sunshine which kept the snow fresh. This was taken on the walk up to the highest point on the Buffalo Plateau, The Horn.

My approach to constructing this image was thoughtful and considered. Incorporating leading lines and an interesting foreground can help guide your eye through the photograph, creating a sense of depth and drawing you into the scene. The snowy path leading towards the distant mountains serves as a strong leading line, inviting you to explore the image further.

It's experiences like these that make outdoor photography and exploration so rewarding, allowing me to capture the essence of the moment and the beauty of nature's changing seasons.
