THE STORY
Exploring one morning around Bright, I came across a serene creek lined with trees. The morning air was crisp, and steam gently rose from the flowing water, adding a mystical quality to the scene. I knew immediately that I had arrived at the perfect moment. The trees were adorned with leaves in vibrant autumnal hues, just on the cusp of falling. The soft light of the morning sun filtered through the foliage, casting a warm, golden glow.
Normally, I avoid shooting into the light, fearing the sun might overpower the image and distract from the natural beauty of the scene. But in this instance, the sunlight was integral to capturing the essence of that magical morning. It highlighted the rich colours and textures of the leaves, both on the trees and scattered on the ground.
To capture the full breadth of this enchanting landscape, I used an extreme wide-angle lens. This allowed me to include not only the canopy of leaves above but also the carpet of fallen leaves beneath. Positioning the camera low to the ground, I accentuated the size and presence of the fallen leaves, making them appear larger and more prominent in the frame.
By emphasizing the fallen leaves, I wanted to convey the true spirit of autumn. After all, autumn is all about the vibrant transformation of nature, the cycle of life as leaves change color and eventually fall, creating a beautiful tapestry on the ground. The sight of those colourful leaves, illuminated by the soft morning light, encapsulated the fleeting beauty of the season.
In that quiet moment by the creek, with the sun shining through the trees and the steam rising from the water, I felt a deep connection to the landscape. The image I captured that morning was more than just a photograph; it was a celebration of autumn’s splendor, a reminder of the beauty in change and the transient moments that define our experiences in nature.
As I packed up my gear and took one last look at the scene, I felt a profound sense of gratitude. The morning had gifted me with a perfect blend of light, color, and atmosphere, allowing me to capture the true essence of autumn in Bright. This image, with its vibrant leaves and soft light, remains one of my favourites, a testament to the simple yet profound beauty of the natural world.

WHICH FINISH?
Great question! Here's what we recommend...
- CANVAS - On trend (we sell heaps) and great for most homes with lots of windows. Soaks up the reflection.
- ACRYLIC - On trend with its frameless look. Suits modern homes with big white walls. Highly reflective though.
- METAL - The shinny version of canvas. It's framed the same way but instead is very shinny and flat.
- FRAMED - Traditional look however we don't sell many framed prints these days.
- ROLLED - Perfect if you have your own framer however, remember framing is expensive!

WHITE BORDER
All Rolled Prints come with a white border. This allows you to have the print framed without having to pay for a mount board.
- 60 x 40cms prints typically have 5cms each side
- 100 x 75cms and larger have 7cms each side.

- 60 x 40cms - suits a study, hallway, or between doorways
- 100 x 75cms - suits walls above side boards and fireplaces, for example
- 150 x 100cms - suits walls above couches and beds, for example
- 150cms plus is best for large 300cms plus walls, like a living room.
