The Mountain - Mount Bruce, Karijini, WA

Mount Bruce is the second highest mountain in Western Australia. There’s a fantastic 9km return hike that you can do up the spin of this mountain to reach the top. It takes approximately two hours each way. Having been here a few years previous, I had it in mind that a drone shot from a distance might work.

Arriving at the start point at 4am and gathering my belongings in the dark, I made my way long the rocky track to the top. After climbing through some steep sections and almost losing my footing, I made it to the top. Launching the drone and sending it over 1.5kms out from the highest point, I must admit that I had vertigo for the drone being up so high and so far away. But it all worked out in the end. I love the ridge lines from where the water has eroded away the rock.
