THE STORY BEHIND THE ARTWORK
Photographing the sandbanks of the river near Derby, Western Australia, from above was an extraordinary experience that left me in awe of the natural world's ability to create astonishing artistry. The riverbanks, resembling fiery flames in the harsh Australian sunlight, beckoned me to capture their otherworldly beauty from an aerial perspective.
I had embarked on a helicopter ride, my camera ready to document this unique and mesmerizing landscape. As we soared above the river, I marveled at the intricate patterns etched into the sandbanks by the ebb and flow of water over countless years. The contrast between the scorching, sunlit sand and the cool, shadowy waters was a sight to behold.
The sandbanks, sculpted by the forces of nature, bore an uncanny resemblance to flickering flames. The undulating curves and intricate patterns seemed to dance with the wind, creating a visual symphony of light and shadow. From the air, the riverbanks appeared as though they were ablaze with an otherworldly fire, a phenomenon that left me captivated.
As I focused on capturing this surreal landscape, I knew that each photograph was a fleeting moment in time. The play of light and shadow, the interplay of colors, and the intricate patterns of the sandbanks were ever-changing. I wanted to preserve this ephemeral beauty and share it with the world.
The helicopter's altitude allowed me to explore the landscape from various angles. I tilted my camera to capture the undulating sandbanks and the river's sinuous path, as if following the course of nature's own fiery dance. The photographs I took were a testament to the ever-evolving masterpiece of the Australian wilderness.
The sense of isolation in this remote corner of Western Australia added to the ethereal quality of the scene. There were no signs of human presence, just the river winding its way through the untamed land, with the fiery sandbanks as its centerpiece. It was a moment of communion with nature, a chance to witness its raw and unfiltered beauty.
As the helicopter began its descent, I reflected on the incredible experience I had just been a part of. Photographing the sandbanks of the river, which looked like flames from above, had been a surreal and mesmerizing adventure. The images I captured were a testament to the boundless creativity of the natural world, and a reminder that even the most unexpected landscapes could be transformed into breathtaking works of art when viewed from a different perspective.

WHICH FINISH?
Great question! Here's what we recommend...
- CANVAS - On trend (we sell heaps) and great for most homes with lots of windows. Soaks up the reflection.
- ACRYLIC - On trend with its frameless look. Suits modern homes with big white walls. Highly reflective though.
- METAL - The shinny version of canvas. It's framed the same way but instead is very shinny and flat.
- FRAMED - Traditional look however we don't sell many framed prints these days.
- ROLLED - Perfect if you have your own framer however, remember framing is expensive!

WHITE BORDER
All Rolled Prints come with a white border. This allows you to have the print framed without having to pay for a mount board.
- 60 x 40cms prints typically have 5cms each side
- 100 x 75cms and larger have 7cms each side.
