We all that Iceland is a landscape photographers dream. If you've been you'll know what I'm taking about - icebergs on black sandy beaches, volcanoes, waterfalls plunging from stunning cliff faces, the world's largest glacial fields, snow-capped mountains, Mars-like desert landscapes, braided rivers...the list goes on.
But imagine seeing all this from the air? In your very own private helicopter?
Well now you can...your privately chartered helicopter will have the doors off giving you an uninterrupted view of this magical world. For 6 days (7 mind-blowing hours flying time) you'll have the unique opportunity to capture the incredible Icelandic landscapes from above.
Join Tom Putt, Master Photographer and Outdoor Photographer of the Year Aerial winner, as he guides you over some of the most photogenic landscapes in this world.
Arriving into the capital Reykivk, Tom will be there to collect you from the airport. From there you'll travel south to the township of Hella, your based for the next 3 nights.
You'll meet for a drink before a yummy dinner in-house. Tom will carefully go through the workshop to tease you even more about the exciting days ahead. An early night for those who wish before our workshop starts the following day.
Day Two - Four
You'll be out the door before sunrise to get first light on the Icelandic landscape from above. As the helicopter lifts off, don't forget to pinch yourself to remind yourself that this is really happening.
You'll search for amazing photographic opportunities with Tom there to guide you with your photography as you fly. Tom will be carefully liasing with the pilot to get you in the right positions. The main purpose is to explore the southern coastline with its famous braided rivers. But I'm sure you'll also land and explore remote inaccessible mountains and glaciers - JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!
Day Five & Six
You'll move further to the east on these two days to the town of Hof. Here you'll be photographing the famed Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, filled with fragmented icebergs that drift out to see to eventually reside on the black sandy beaches. Time will also allow for shoots over glacial rifts and crevasses and more braided rivers.
When you're not flying you'll be exploring other epic landscapes on the ground as well as receiving plenty of one-on-one time with Tom to help process all the thousands of photographs from your time in the air.
Enjoy a well-earned sleep-in before we say our farewells after an incredible week in Iceland. Tom will drive you to the airport to catch your flight home or for your future onward travels...Faroe Islands perhaps?
