In the heart of the Snowy Mountains, where winter's icy grip transforms the landscape into a wonderland of snow and frost, there stood a solitary sentinel, a Snow Gum, against the backdrop of Dead Horse Gap. This ancient tree, gnarled and weather-beaten, had witnessed countless seasons come and go, its branches standing tall and defiant in the face of nature's most relentless challenges.

I had heard tales of this remarkable Snow Gum from fellow photographers and adventurers who had ventured into the Snowy Mountains. Its allure lay not only in its age but in the way it had adapted to its harsh alpine environment. Its twisted trunk and silvery bark seemed to defy the very essence of winter, a stark contrast to the pristine white landscape that surrounded it.

One crisp morning, as the first light of dawn painted the mountains in shades of pink and gold, I decided it was time to embark on a photographic journey to capture the essence of this remarkable tree. Bundled up in layers of warm clothing and armed with my trusty camera, I set out on the snow-covered trail that led to Dead Horse Gap.

The hike was challenging, with the crunch of snow beneath my boots and the crisp mountain air stinging my cheeks. As I ascended, the Snow Gum gradually came into view, standing like a stoic sentinel amidst the snow-covered terrain. Its silvery branches created a striking contrast with the winter landscape, and the rising sun cast long, dramatic shadows, enhancing the tree's character.

I spent hours in the bitter cold, capturing the Snow Gum from every conceivable angle. I marveled at its tenacity and the way it seemed to capture the spirit of the Snowy Mountains themselves—rugged, enduring, and beautiful. The intricate details of the bark, the twists and turns of the branches, and the ethereal quality of the snowflakes falling around it all became subjects of my lens.

As the day unfolded, the sky transformed into a canvas of blue, and the Snow Gum took on different personalities with each passing hour. I watched as the warm, midday light bathed the tree, accentuating its silver bark and casting a soft glow on the snow. Later, during the golden hours, the tree's silhouette became a stunning black contrast against the fiery hues of the setting sun.

The experience of photographing this Snow Gum was a deeply moving one. It was more than just capturing an image; it was a connection with nature and a testament to the enduring beauty that the Snowy Mountains held. As the sun dipped below the horizon and the first stars appeared in the darkening sky, I knew I had captured the essence of this ancient Snow Gum, a timeless sentinel in the heart of the Snowy Mountains.

FRAMED PRINTS

We love our Framed Prints. Our stunning Deep Shadow Box Frames (with that sexy spacer between the frame and the print) are just to die for (Frame Measurements - 30mm wide by 40mm deep). The spacer allows the print to sit back from the glass, ensuring it doesn't touch and ruin your print. Offering the best in contemporary framing, your framed print will look AMAZING on your wall. Your print is printed on archival quality papers with archival inks, ensuring your print won’t fade or wrinkle. Your Tom Putt Print comes digitally signed and a small title is added to the left hand corner.

The sizes on the website are for the OVERALL print size - which includes the frame and the digital matt (a white border is added to the print rather than a traditional matt board). We STRONGLY recommend that your artwork be supplied with special non-reflective ArtGlass or 99% UV Museum Glass which means that you can see the beautiful artwork, not the distracting reflection from normal glass. ACRYLIC FRAMELESS PRINT

What is an Acrylic Print? Think the look of glass but it's not. It looks INCREDIBLE but it's not as heavy or dangerous as glass. It is the same look as many splash backs in kitchens. Your print is between two pieces of acrylic (approx. 5mm thick). The artwork is then hung on the wall using a baton system. Many of our buyers like this finish as it sits close to the wall. This finish suits any modern, light-filled home. Our Acrylic Prints are sure to create that WOW factor.

METAL FRAMED PRINT

What the heck is a Metal Print? I know, I thought the same! A Metal Print is a photographic print heat-adhered to a thin piece of aluminium, approximately 2mm thick. This keeps the print extremely flat. The print is coated with a high gloss vanish to protect it from dust, moisture, finger prints, etc. Your Metal Print has incredible impact and comes finished with a Deep Shadow Box Frame in Raw Oak, White or Black (Frame Measurements - 10mm wide by 55mm deep). This finish suits art that has punchy colours that you want to highlight in a room that has minimal reflections.

ROLLED PRINTS

Sometimes the simple things in life are often the best. A rolled print is ready for you to do with it what you want. All our rolled prints come with a white border to help it frame superbly. That means that you don't need to pay extra for matting when framing it. The white border is approx. 70mm wide on each side for artwork under 100cms (longest edge) and 90mm for artwork over 100cms. This white border is included in the total size of the print.

Whatever your motivation is for purchasing artwork, we love helping you in finding the right artwork for you. Let's tackle each reason in detail:

1. BLANK WALLS NEED TO BE FILLED

If artwork is purchased to fill your walls, choosing based on the style and colour scheme is a great place to start. What is the style of your home? Is it Hamptons? Modern? Classic? This will determine the style of the artwork and medium it is presented on. For example, a Hamptons style home needs a beach scene presented in a white shadow box frame. A metal or acrylic artwork will suit a modern home that is light-filled with big white walls. What colour is your furniture? The flooring? The colour of your walls? Many homes these days have neutral tones and timber flooring, therefore the raw oak shadow box frames work very well - and our most popular selling frame. Is your home light-filled or darker? A darker style of home may need a brighter image to be seen.

◦ Entrance - this should be a statement piece that has the WOW factor when anyone visits your home. Our 150 x 100cms artworks work well in an entrance.
◦ Living Room - an artwork that evokes a sense of family and belonging works well in a living room. Our 150 x 100cms artworks work well in an Living Room.
◦ Bedrooms - being a personal space, an artwork that has meaning to you is important. Our 100 x 75cms or 150 x 100cms work well depending on the size of the walls (see the section below on PRINT SIZES).
◦ Hallway - if the artwork is going in your hallway, make sure the artwork is not too large. Otherwise you won't be able to stand back far enough to appreciate the artwork. Our 60 x 40cms are perfect for this. A large vertical artwork is perfect at the end of the hallway to draw your eye in. Our 100 x 75cms and 150 x 100cms artworks work well in this space.

2. PARTICULAR ARTWORK FOR YOUR HOME

In any case, if you're choosing a particular artwork for your home, we feel it's important that you connect with the artwork emotionally. Many of the artworks I've chosen for my own home are ones that I've fallen in love with the moment I saw them. Yes, it was love at first sight! I'd like to think that if you love it the first time you see it, you're only going to love it more in years to come! A treasured artwork should keep giving to you as the years pass. You come to appreciate it more. You realise the more you look at it, the more you see in it. What it gives you has you feel a sense of fulfilment and enjoyment in the right purchase you've made.

3. PRINT SIZES

Your artwork size depends mainly on the size of the wall your placing it on. As a general rule, the artwork should take up approximately 1/2 to 2/3 of the wall space width. For example, a 3m wide wall should have a 1.5m to 2m wide artwork to fill that space. Any smaller and the artwork will get lost. Here's a guide for the more popular spaces in your home:

◦ Entrance - 100 x 75cms or larger, depending on the space.
◦ Living Room - 150cms wide for a 2 seater couch; 150cms plus for a 3 seater couch.
◦ Bedrooms - 150cms wide for above a queen-sized bed or other wall.
◦ Hallway - 60 x 40cms for narrow hallways; 100 x 75cms or larger for the end of a hallway.
◦ Study - 60 x 40cms or larger

Unfortunately, we can't ship to PO Boxes. Delivery must be to a physical address. We're more than happy to deliver to your company or work address too.

A manly guy in crisp white overalls, slightly unbuttoned, smelly of your favourite after shave and drop dead eyes that will take you breath away (just think of those Manpower guys). Seriously though, we carefully have your Tom Putt Print delivered directly to your door by our expert couriers.

DO I NEED TO BE HOME TO ACCEPT THE DELIVERY?

Are you kidding me? With the description above, you're asking that question? Yes you will need to be home to sign for your Tom Putt Print (unless you give us the OK for it to be left somewhere safe and secure at your home).

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO ARRIVE?

WHAT IF MY PRINT ARRIVES DAMAGED?

Take that man to the side and give him what for! Seriously though, we make sure your gorgeous print is packaged so tight and snug that it will arrive in pristine condition. However, sometimes the delivery guys have a bad day and your print might be damaged (that would kill us FYI). Just let us know and we'll arrange a replacement print ASAP.
