What could be more exhilarating than the crisp air at Victoria’s highest mountain resort, Mt Hotham/Dinner Plain, greeting you on a morning shoot?

Surrounded by the magnificent view of snow-capped ranges, on this week-long Snow Photography Workshop, we base ourselves at Dinner Plain, just shy of the Mt Hotham summit. We will explore the surrounding area taking in the best Mt Hotham has to offer for scenery and gourmet meals.

We will collect you from Melbourne airport in our private, air-conditioned, vehicle. En-route to our accommodation we will have some stops along the way, including lunch at the famous Brown Brother’s winery.

Our nights will be spent in private accommodation in the heart of the village. During the day, adventure awaits. From high-country huts and the glistening trunks of the magnificent snow gums to breathtaking views from the helicopter with the doors off. I love the snow and would love to share some of my favourite places with you.

Here’s what we got up to on the workshop in 2018.

DAY ONE (Monday)

Fly into Melbourne airport, I'll be there to take you in my private vehicle to the stunning Dinner Plain in the Victorian High Country. Stopping off along the way, I'll give you all the tips and techniques to get the best from your camera.

We'll beak up the drive by having a much-needed coffee at Euro and then a 3 course, gourmet lunch at Particia's Table at the famous Brown Brothers Winery at Milawa.

We'll arrive at our private lodge at Dinner Plain by dinner time. We'll have dinner at my favourite restaurant at the High Plains Hotel then you can retire to your own private room.

DAY TWO (Tuesday)

An early start allows us to capture sunrise from the top of Mount Hotham overlooking the gallery towards one of the most impressive peaks in Australia, Mount Feathertop.

After a well-deserved coffee and breakfast, you'll then spend the day exploring Dinner Plain and it's magnificent snow gums forests.

A gourmet meal is waiting for you after your day of photography.

DAY THREE (Wednesday)

Another day of snow photography, we'll be up early to drive to the summit of Mount Hotham enjoy photographing the awesome views. We'll then spend the day exploring Hotham with snow-covered mountains and snow gums.

During the day we'll also take time to download our photographs and you'll have some one-on-one time with me to give you critical feedback on your images.

DAY FOUR (Thursday)

With a day up our sleeve for possible inclement weather, we'll get out and shot some more before downloading our images and I'll provide a comprehensive critique of your images. Many participants have commented that this is one of the most valuable aspects of my workshops.

DAY FIVE (Friday)

After a well-earned sleep in, we'll conduct a final critique of our images before a light lunch and returning to Melbourne airport by 6pm.

"I just want to say thanks so much for such a wonderful trip, everything about it was fantastic from the organisation to where we went! Looking forward to doing more workshops with you in the future!" Chris, Adelaide

"We just completed the Snow Workshop - 5 days at Dinner Plain, Mt Hotham and surrounds. Seamless from the start! Picked up, luggage managed, comfort breaks on the long drive up to the snow. The FOOD started with a delicious 3 course lunch with matching wines at Brown Brothers Milawa - what a comfort break! Our accomodation was 'Camelot' at Dinner Plain - ensuite rooms in a huge house with everything you might need. The food kept coming - after all, you need to keep your energy up when in the snow. Surprise!!!!! Helicopter flight. Surprise!!!!! Snow-shoeing to dinner in a tee-pee (fondue night). When there was no snow for a few days, Tom switched it up so that no time was wasted. And then it did snow! We didn't want to leave - but then again, how does that differ from any Inspire Workshop?" Anders, QLD

Hi I'm Tom Putt and I'll be leading you on this fantastic Snow Photography Tour. Having been shooting in the snow for the past 5 years intensively now, I know all the best locations intimately and can't wait to share them with you.

A little bit more about me - I am passionate and wildly enthusiastic about photography, having spent the last 20 years exploring all parts of Australia to photograph landscapes.

I first fell in love with photography at age 13. I photographed wildlife, following my love for ornithology, before leaving university to pursue a career in sports photography. In 1998, I was fortunate enough to take the eye of Australia's leading sports photography agency, Sport the Library. From 1998 to 2001, I covered over 300 events across Australia and the world, including the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

But my passion has always been in landscape photography. My first shoot was walking the Overland Track in 1997. Since then, I have travelled extensively across Australia to capture the beauty of this great land.

I am a Master of Photography and have won over 100 Awards in both International and National Competitions. In 2014, I was awarded the International Landscape Photographer of the Year Runner-up.
